Coup in Thailand
With only one week to go until our trip starts I was more than slightly alarmed to log onto the Internet today and see that the army had staged a coup against the Prime Minister in Thailand. We land in Bangkok on Oct 11th, and while things are non-violent and appear civilized at the moment I can only hope they stay that way. Apparently their PM is a little too rich for his own good, so with the backing of the King this coup from the Military may be deserved. Doesn't calm the travelling nerves though! We got snow here in Banff last week so I will be well prepared for some cold nights in the Nepali mountains. 8 days to go! Lots of packing and organizing to do....
