Not much new

This morning I was walking down the street and saw a homeless boy. He was sleeping on the sidewalk, his little arms tucked into his t-shirt for warmth. The saddest part was all of the flies swarming his face and and people walking by him, and yet he slept through it all. I was not surprised, there are quite a few homeless people here in Kathmandu. Although it will be nothing compared to India. On the other hand there are so many differences in 3rd world countries compared to our own, just with the work ethic you sometimes see. I am sure there are dozens of books written on the subject of pulling a country out of poverty. I am currently reading Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie, which is a real testament to India so I'm gearing up for it.

We now have a plan: be tourists here all weekend and leave for Royal Chitwan National Park early next week. While there we can ride elephants, see rhinos and some cultural shows on Nepal. From there we will go to Varanasi, INDIA. I am definitely getting more excited and ready to go there. I feel ready to keep travelling and both Gavin and I are feeling good health wise now. Tonight we are going to see the temple and area called a ghat, where they burn/cremate the dead bodies by the river. I have never seen anything like that before.
