Off to Goyko
we have decided to start hiking again today, instead of having a rest day. we are all (us and the brits) pretty acclimitized from the last 10 days and will just hike for one hour today. it's a beautiful day here in Namche bazar. I'm going to attempt to mail some postcards home, buy some stuff for our trek and get a sandwich on the go!i just looked online at the news and it appears there has been another bus accident in nepal, bit scary. we are nowhere near there and the bus from kathmandu to jiri we took was not overcrowded which was a relief. we will be flying from lukla to kath when we finish the trek.
so we are heading northwest to goyko, a place with beautiful lakes and glaciers and a great view of everest. i think we will be there in about 4 days, depending on the weather etc. from there we will go to kala patar, the closest view of everest. hopefully the weather holds up, there has been some snow. buty tyhis morning it was nice enough for me to wash my hair outside in a silver pot, with the mountains around me, the porters having a giggle and the sun on my back. lovely! a lot of people have only just gotten up in the mountains so we feel like old hats, and have earned more respect from the locals since our hike from jiri was rather difficult. so that's a neat feeling.
i better go, they are waiting for me. might be another few weeks before i get internet access again. but we are safe and sound and happy and ALIVE and smiling1
