Last day of the trek

It's so wierd to think, but today was officially our last day of trekking. We are now in Lukla and tomorrow morning will be on a flight to Kathmandu. It's been 25 amazing days and it's sad we are done, but I have loved it all (okay, almost all).

Our last day was a nice one, very hot and sunny and the skies were clear. We hiked just over 4 hours and upon arriving in Lukla went to the Seti Air office to get our names on the list for the flight. The plane is so small there are only about 15 people on it. We went to the airport (field really, covered with ashphalt) and the runway is VERY short and slanted too. Should be an interesting flight. I am excited, I love little airplanes. We will take only 35mins to fly what took us 9 days to walk!

And so for me this has been an incredible adventure. I have wanted to come here for so long and I'm really happy that the trekking lived up to my expectations. The scenery was stunning, the people were beautiful and I felt really happy the whole time. I hated the being sick part but that still didn't ruin it for me. Part of why it was so great was getting to know some of the locals and seeing the little kids on the trails. We talked with people quite a bit, and i want to see other areas of Nepal at some point. I have to check out the news online but i know the government and Maoists have come to some agreement. Well the Maoists make us SO angry, I will dedicate a blog to them in the near future. But I will not pay them any more money and also there are new trekking regulations in place so we would have to pay a porter if we wanted to do the Annapurna trek, I think we are done trekking for this trip.

Anyways more from Kathmandu shortly. Hopefully the weather is clear tomorrow, they fly by vision only so if it's cloudy/stormy then no flight.
