Happy in Melbourne

I'm in a house, with a Toronto radio station playing over the Internet, a glass of milk and some Timtams (delicious Australian chocolate cookies) beside me; I feel like I could be at home! It's great to feel relaxed and at home somewhere after nearly four months on the road. We are staying at Cassandra and Pete's place which is in Melbourne and Gavin and I have a lovely spare bedroom. The beds in Asia are all really hard so it's very luxurious to be on a normal bed again. We can open a fridge when we feel like it and eat apples without soaking them in filtered water to make sure they are clean!
Last night we had Emma and Rowan over, 2 friends that lived with Cass, Pete and I in London. It was time for a BBQ and it was devine. The photo is of Cass (left), Me and Emma. Today we went downtown to St Kilda which is by the Ocean and full of funky cafes and people hanging out.
On Thursday Gavin and I are going away with Cass & Pete for 3 nights to the Mornington Peninsula. It's about one hour away and we've rented a little place by the beach, close to the wineries too. I've never been there before, should be a lot of fun. They might even convince us to play some tennis with them.
In the next week we are going to try and make plans for the rest of our time here. I am going to Alice Springs to stay with Kelly, that is pretty much right in the middle of Australia so it will be very different scenery. I'll get to see Ayers Rock and some 'Outback.' I've also got a friend (Fe) from Auckland coming over and have to make plans for Gavin and I to go to Tasmania too. We have a lot of people to catch up here which is so much fun.
