Bangkok photos

I love the taxi's here that are called tuk-tuks. The night photo of the street with a lot of lights is Khao San Road, the main backpacker street with awesome cheap food, clothes, books, bars, travel shops etc. We took a boat tour one day to get to the mall and it's a nice way to see new things too.
The one of Gavin with all the bright lights behind him is at the Siam Paragon mall, it's one year old and really modern and huge. Lots of fun! We bought my engagement ring there this week. It's beautiful - white gold with a solitaire princess cut for all the ladies who are asking ;)We did quite a bit of research, looked in dozens of shops here in Bangkok and decided we would get a good value and quality ring here. They are making my ring now and I can pick it up on Thurs. While the diamond is from Africa (as most are) it's from a company that assures it's clients they are 'conflict free' on the certificate and through where they buy their diamonds. This was a hard decision, as we could have bought a Canadian diamond as well have been 100% sure it was conflict free. But for the price, the memory of out trip and getting a ring personally made we are happy we bought it in Thailand, as well as feel fairly confident no blood was shed for the diamond.
