Our Australian plans, for those curious folks.
I've been busy planning the rest of our time here in Australia since we now have 2 months, instead of the original 4 weeks. While in Melbourne we are going to the Mornington Peninsula twice, once in a rented cottage with Cass and Pete for the upcoming long weekend and then another few days to visit my girlfriend Andy. There are beaches and wineries there. Then (probably) next week we will go to Tasmania for one week. We're going to rent a car and camp around the island, it looks so beautiful. Tasmania is an island (but a state of Australia) so we will catch a cheap flight from Melbourne to Hobart.
Feb 15th - Feb 22nd: I am flying Melbourne to Alice Springs (middle of OZ) to stay with my friend Kelly. She's going to take me around to Ayers Rock/Uluru, The Outack etc.
Feb 22 - March 3rd: I'm going to Auckland! A little last minute but it works out best for me to see Fe there so I'm staying with her for a week and visiting other friends too. It will be nice to see the city again after living there for one year. Gavin will be in Sydney and probably Rockhampton (north of Brissy) visiting his friends when I'm off galavanting around.
March 3rd - March 19th: I'll meet Gavin in Brisbane, we will also hit the Gold Coast for a day or two. We're staying with Serina and seeing Kathryn and Beth, all friends I met in Banff.
March 20th: Arrive London. We still have to book the leaving London bit but one step at a time, aiming to be home in Toronto end of Mar/early April and then Banff by end of April (Gav earlier than that).
So that's it, now you all have an idea where we will be the next few months. Except for camping in Tasmania we will be staying with friends everywhere which is just awesome. Makes it more comfortable, fun and of course better for us in the money department.
